Part of one of the largest and most ambitious urban regeneration projects in Europe, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier blends a diverse and unmatched retail, dining and entertainment offering with homes, offices, hotels – and even a cruise ship terminal.

Inaugurated in April 2025, it connects places to live and work with innovative retail and entertainment concepts including a 10-screen cinema, international and local restaurants, bars and cafés, plus medical and well-being centres, as well as exciting cultural offers and leisure facilities. Over half of the brands and concepts represented in the quarter are new to Hamburg’s city centre and one-third are entirely new to the city, bringing visitors a huge range of fresh experiences.

With this mixed-use development, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield showcases its vision to play an active part in the sustainable transformation of the city, connecting future-oriented models for urban living with the historically developed Hamburg identity. Built on a former industrial site, the project highlights the Group’s dedication not just to building a destination, but to creating a lasting district for the city of Hamburg that brings new economic, social and environmental vitality to the local community.

All buildings are certified according to the international BREEAM “Excellent” standard, and the office buildings according to the DGNB Gold Standard. The quarter has also been awarded the BREEAM Communities certificate – the first of its kind in Germany – with an “Excellent” rating, recognising the project’s significant environmental and social contributions.
