After the success of the competition last year, the Westfield Stories short film festival is back. Launched in France, in partnership with Vice Media Group and Publicis Media Connect, Westfield Stories was created to give a voice to emerging talent in the French film scene and support young directors at the beginning of their careers.

This year, we present 8 shorts set in our Westfield destinations and created by talented young filmmakers from the cinema school Kourtrajmé. In order to celebrate diversity and emotional expression, everyone involved was given carte blanche to create original stories, set in 8 Westfield shopping centres in the Paris region, Lyon and Lille.

Through comedy, pathos and drama, they deliver slices of modern life that reveal truths about the way we live today and the spaces where we meet and interact. All 8 short films are now available to stream online here. Or watch the festival teaser below.

"We are incredibly proud of this year's association with the Kourtrajmé collective," said Anne-Sophie Sancerre, Chief Operating Officer Southern Europe for URW. "The directors in the competition have outdone each other in terms of talent and have perfectly highlighted what makes Westfield shopping centres so special – unique places where people reinvent being together, every day."

From February 16, a jury made up of entertainment professionals and chaired by the actress Shirine Boutella will elect the best short film. Members of the public can also vote for their favourite film on the VICE France platform. A People's Choice award will announced at the culmination of the competition.
